This is what remakes should be, refreshing a game for newer systems while still maintaining the style of what made the older game great.While it is a remake the game still introduces 2 new characters to play that play very different from the main 2 cast, while also having 2 entirely new levels not in the original Snes game.Now i personally hadn't played wild guns before this i had only seen videos so as a sorta new player it took me a couple hours of tries to beat the game on normal with the continue system as it is a pretty hard game. Another few play throughs of trying to beat it without continues, so a full run takes about 25 or so minutes, so it is a short game.So if you only want to beat it once $20 ($15 on launch discount) might be too much for the amount playtime you can get out of the game unless you want to go through the other difficulties and try them with all the different characters. Personally i want to see more console games like this to come to PC so i think it's worth it for some form of entertainment.Edit: I went and played through the super nintendo version just now to maintain accuracy in what i said now so i dont contradict some information i wrote. In comparison to the snes version this version plays much more smoothly and the wider field of view which makes it feel less constricted than the original, it also has a much higher resolution makes it more superior to the older version.. A classic game made even better then it was. So much fun! Worth every second you play!. Brilliant game! Great throwback!. I honestly wish Steam had a neutral option. The game retains a lot of the punishing difficulty of the original SNES release, which is fine in theory. I'm happy with the new content (especially the new characters) and I would normally recommend this game. However, I can't because these games are in my honest opinion far more enjoyable in co-op and this game fails there pretty miserably for a very avoidable reason.Why the bloody hell can't you continue in co-op at all? The game doesn't need to be this hard in co-op and it frustrates me because this was advertised as a 4-player game. If this one problem was fixed, I would change my review to recommended but I know that's not going to happen. So in short, if you want to play this kind of game by yourself, go ahead and buy it. But don't buy it looking for an enjoyable co-op experience. (UNLESS YOU'RE SUPER SODDING GOOD). A surprise reappearance by one of the cult classics of the Super Nintendo, Wild Guns Reloaded marks the first ever PC release of a one of a rare breed of "shooting gallery" games which comprise only a few other titles, such as Cabal and NAM 1975. This version of the game includes two new playable characters, Bullet and Doris, with very different gameplay to returning characters Clint and Annie, an updated soundtrack and two new levels playable on the higher difficulties. You can opt to use the original version of the soundtrack, complete with new tracks for the new levels composed as to sound like SNES audio. One major issue presents itself- when playing alone, the player has infinite continues and can always restart the current level when out of lives. But for whatever reason, this is not the case when playing in coop, making it quite difficult to experience the full game with a friend, as even on its lowest difficulty, this version of Wild Guns is challenging on par with any SNES-era action game.. This is a cool, unique shooting game, best for players that want to repeat levels over and over in pursuit of a perfect run. It's worth noting that multiplayer mode doesn't have any continues, so it's not a great couch co-op experience unless everybody playing is extremely good.. Please, new levels?!
